We'll bend the regular Scrabble rules by allowing any word that's arguably a part of queer culture. The funnier and longer the explanation, the better!

"hanky code" — compound word... but oh-so- queer for oh-so-long
"U-haul" — proper noun and hyphenated…but there is that tired ol' joke about lesbians on a 2nd date
"SOFFA" — acronym...but what's queer culture without strings of

The Dunshee House Board of Directors is committed to fostering an even more intimate community atmosphere in our House and also to increasing self-education opportunities around issues affecting our communities, for ourselves and also among all who work, volunteer, and attend groups with us. Our purpose is to help sensitize us to the needs and feelings of the communities at large who attend our ongoing conversation groups and special events. Second Sundays is tailored to the staff, facilitators, other volunteers, and group members of Dunshee House. This unique and provocative program may be extended to the broader LGBTQ community at a later date.

This six-week-long group is a space by and for folks who aren't solely hetero- or homosexual, straight or gay -- i.e., bisexuals, folks with sexual preferences not based on gender, folks with sexual preferences for multiple genders, omnisexuals, pansexuals, etc. Folks (including men, women, transfolks, and other genders) whose sexualities fall outside hetero- or homosexual/straight or gay are encouraged to call or e-mail for more information on registering. Created as a by-registration-only series, this series aims to allow group members to build the sorts of trust, intimacy, and connection helpful in discussing their own personal experiences with the series topics.

This six-week-long group is a space by and for Queer/LGBTQ Folks of Color only and is co-facilitated by Xandra Ibarra and Jed Lin. Created as a by-registration-only series, this series aims to allow group members to build the sorts of trust, intimacy, and connection helpful in discussing their own personal experiences with the series topics. Guided by the belief that spirituality is an ongoing process, this series brings together folks interested in sharing their personal connections to, experiences with, and embodiments of spirituality. Beginning with a discussion of how we talk to ourselves about what it means to be spiritual, we’ll move into the following topics: the external expressions of our internal beliefs; being both queer and spiritual; our individual experiences with religion and spiritual practices; and more!
