Dunshee House support groups are ongoing, weekly groups organized around a common issue, experience, or circumstance. Our support groups are peer-facilitated by volunteers who are trained and supervised by Dunshee House staff members.
Some examples of Dunshee House support groups are the following: “Long-term Survivors of AIDS,” “Women ‘Coming Out’ after Thirty,” "Body Matters," “Gender Outlaws,” and “HIV Negative Gay and Bisexual Men.”

Dunshee House discussion series are often short term, weekly groups, generally four to twelve weeks in length, which focus on specific topics or books. Occasionally, discussion groups may be ongoing, rather than short term. Our discussion series are peer-facilitated by volunteers who are trained and supervised by Dunshee House staff members.
Past Dunshee House discussion series have included the following: “Queer Women Talk,” “Communities, Connectedness, Boundaries, and Responsibilities,” the “Radical Gurls Reading Group,” and “Queer Conversations.”

Dunshee House skills groups are short term, weekly groups, generally four to twelve weeks in length, that are focused on group members’ explorations of a particular life issue. Our skills groups are peer-facilitated by volunteers who are trained and supervised by Dunshee House staff members.
Past Dunshee House skills groups have included the following: “Healthy Relationships with our Female Partners,” “Master Daters,” “Sex Talk for Queer Women,” "Queerly Spiritual: Our Personal Journeys," and “Growth and Intimacy for Gay Men.”

Dunshee House retreats provide opportunities for attendees to delve deeply into specific life issues within a larger peer group. Our retreats are peer-facilitated by volunteers who are trained and supervised by Dunshee House staff members.
Past Dunshee House retreats have included the following: “Gay OK” and the “Over 40’s Retreat”.

Dunshee House one-to-one peer support programs provide opportunities for pairs of folks to share information, support, and life skills around particular issues or circumstances. Our one-to-one peer support programs are directly supervised by Dunshee House staff members.
One example of one-to-one peer support through Dunshee House is “Positives”, a short-term, one to one peer support program matching newly diagnosed or newly dealing HIV+ males with HIV+ males who’ve been positive for a year or more.
